A shed may be exempt if it meets all of these:
Located in a rural zone
Maximum floor area of 110 m²
Maximum height of 4 m above floor level
Unsupported roof span no more than 6 m
Not accessible to the public
Not storing hazardous substances
Not in a wind zone exceeding “high” or design wind speed over 44 m/s
Set back at least its own height from any residential building, road, railway, or legal boundary
Designed or reviewed by a Chartered Professional Engineer or Licensed Building Practitioner
