The Waiau hangar

Built as a custom hot-rolled aircraft hangar based on our popular Titan kitset, this 12m x 15m building was transformed from a kitset supply into a full turnkey build for a very busy client. Designed to house a microlight aircraft, it delivers secure storage, easy access, and a dedicated aviation space right beside the owner’s home.

The Outcome

This private plane hangar showcases how flexible the Titan design can be when adapted to suit specific requirements. Using hot-rolled structural steel, we created a robust, high-quality building with the strength and durability needed for long-term aircraft storage.

A standout feature is the bi-parting steel sliding door system, engineered to provide an impressive 11.5m clear opening. This allows effortless access for microlight and other small aircraft, with wider openings available for larger planes if required.

Located alongside the client’s home, the hangar offers a convenient, purpose-built space to store and maintain their aircraft securely. By taking care of the full build, ProSteel removed the hassle for a busy client and delivered a complete solution from design through to construction.
